make a connection.
Does it work between Mac and Windows?+
Yes. Open DroppingSparks on both computers on the same local network, approve each other as friends, and start sharing. The Mac release is for Apple silicon; the Windows release is for Intel/AMD x64 PCs.
Do my files go to the cloud?+
No. File contents go directly between the computers over your local network. Your account is used for purchases, downloads and license activation.
What does Bluetooth do?+
Bluetooth helps discover nearby computers. Your files travel over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Bluetooth availability depends on your computer’s adapter and permissions; both computers still need a shared local network.
Can I use it without internet?+
Transfers use your local network. You need internet to sign in and activate your license. After a successful license check, the app can work offline for up to seven days before another check is needed.
How big can a file be?+
DroppingSparks has no app-imposed size cap. The receiving computer needs enough free disk space, and the destination filesystem must support the file size. To share a folder, compress it first.
Where are my downloads and license?+
Sign in to your DroppingSparks account to find your Mac and Windows installers and manage your activated computers. You can use your existing Luxsplendore/Spectral Colors account.
